How to fall in love with running?

“When you fall in love with running, you fall in love with struggle. And when you fall in love with struggle, you fall in love with life”!

Falling in love with running isn’t love at first sight. It takes time, patience and dedication to truly fight for what we want. But it’s worth it!
Running can significantly improve physical and mental health. As a form of aerobic exercise, running can reduce stress, improve heart health, and even help alleviate symptoms of depression. Running is a great way to help improve cardiovascular health. Plus, it burns calories and can build strength, among other things. There’s also a long list of psychological benefits runners gain from this sport.

At day one you might doubt having made this choice, but your wish to succeed should keep you motivated for the next couple of days.

Running can be a powerful antidote for stress, a path to inner peace, and a blissful throwback to being a kid. Sometimes you just need to revisit that.

It’s not easy at all, but here are some details, that will make you feel better:

  • A morning routine can energize you for the entire day
  • Running outside connects you with your spirit, your thoughts, and nature
  • Running can unlock your potential and can give you the ability to achieve new goals
  • Everyone’s pace can be different

For some reason, every beginner starts too fast. Embrace the run/walk method to get started and then allow it to be your amazing way to see improvements. There is no need for a rush here. It is normal if you are not in perfect shape to not be able to run for 20 minutes straight the first time.

Before you start running you have to think about what you want to achieve: to improve your speed, your endurance or just to lose weight. This is a really important part of the running.

After setting the right goals, you can create your plan which will help you to achieve them. Just know that running goals have to be as simple as: “I will run 4 times per week” or I want to lose 15 pounds of fat. Pursue your goals!

Running allows you to stay in quiet or listen to motivational songs.

Don’t forget one important rule! Most people think that they can have all kinds of food because they have started to run. It’s not true. Don’t use food as a reward! You might dream of the food while running, but you need to be careful of what you put into your mouth.

Instead, invest in a good pair of running shoes that make you feel like a runner. Buy the outfit that is going to make your workout more comfortable.

Varying your running setting can spark your attitude towards the sport. The fact – it’s very easy to get bored with running if you are doing the same thing over and over again. Change one element in your workout and you will see the immediate results. Don’t run the same path using the same workout, because you will get stuck in a running rut. Keep changing your running routes on a regular basis—never let running become a boring routine task.

Let’s talk about cliches: Give your body time to recover and rest! Recovery and rest days are really important. The proper time between workouts can help your body repair. You don’t have to run every day.

Give it time to fall in love! Falling in love with running doesn’t happen overnight. You need to give it time. Don’t try to rush your relationship with sports – especially with running. It’s a long term commitment. Running is a lifelong relationship.

Running is a great way to challenge yourself and have fun when nothing else works. It’s the world’s best escape. So smile, try to have fun, it gets easier.
