6 Healthy New Year Resolutions

It’s about this exciting time of the year when everything is new and fresh. We are often full of enthusiasm to change things, start a new page, and be a better version of ourselves. New Year, New Me – this is what we like to say. Because each year, it’s an opportunity for change and growth. We can look back on 2021 only to conclude what we can do better this time. So let’s help our experience and hope to get over and create one exciting year! To do so, we want to provide you with some ideas that can be your game changer for 2022.

New Year Resolution #1
The journey of mindfulness

I love to start with this one. Mindfulness is about your mental health. It’s about you being present at the moment and appreciating your current state and surroundings. It’s about you stopping for a second and enjoying this great conversation you just had with your colleague or the hot cup of coffee in the morning that just warmed your heart.

Mindfulness is about making pauses, reducing stress, and being able to actually be grateful for all those great things that happen to you. Still, you are too busy to think about them and enjoy them. It’s time to change that. Buy a small notebook or take notes on your phone each day and type down what good has happened during your day. Try to write at least 5 things you are grateful for. Day by day, you will start noticing more and more how many incredible moments you have missed in the past.

New Year Resolution #2
Nutrition on top

We all can improve on that. You don’t need to be perfect; you just have to be better. Nutrition is different for everyone. We eat differently, and thus, what we’ll have to change to eat better will differ and depend on the person.

For example, if you’re eating too many sweets, you may want to cut on sugar or prepare more protein-based desserts. If you lack veggies in your diet, you may want to ask for great restaurants that make amazing salads, so you may start liking them more! Whatever you feel needs improvement, it’s a good time to start and make a plan about it!

New Year Resolution #3
Active me!

You haven’t been very active in the last year(s)? There are many ways to become more active for those who know that you need more movement! But let’s make it fun this time. Invite friends for beautiful hikes, take your co-workers for a team sport during the weekend, start running or biking with your kids.

There are also great apps to guide you through your journey if you want to make it more personal, and Vitesse Running is precisely that.

New Year Resolution #4
Get a new mattress and do something for your sleep!

Getting better sleep is essential. Many people don’t realize how important sleep is and how much it affects our lives. If you start getting enough sleep, you will have more energy, be in a better mood, and be much more productive. In addition, sleep is the body’s way to repair overnight, so make sure you give a chance to your body to heal naturally.
Prioritize your sleep, get a new mattress, take naps! There will always be more work to be done anyway.

New Year Resolution #5
Stress-reducer year!

We are all under some amount of stress each day. How we cope with stress is what makes life different. So instead of allowing pressure to accumulate, let’s think of ways to reduce it. For example, you can meditate, go to a yoga class, take more walks or even jog to find a solution to the root that gives you stress. It’s very helpful to first identify your source of stress and then ask yourself why you allow it to affect you in that way.

Next, think about whether your stress can change or depend on you. Sometimes we stress about things that are not under our control, and we can’t change. Thus, if you control the situation, find a way to handle it differently; if not, accept it and move on.

New Year Resolution #6
I need a new suitcase, it's travel time

We get rich when we explore. Travelling is the best way to gain experiences and expand our knowledge. It’s also another way to reduce stress, be more active and get a good sleep. Plan to visit at least two places you really want to this year. Try to travel abroad! Walk around, try different cuisine, put a pause on anything else, and learn to enjoy those moments.

Women and their role in sport

Do you know that women participate less in sport than man? If you ask a girl or a woman why she would not engage in forms of physical activities, likely the answer is fear—the fear of what others will think and what others will say.
